A PhD Candidate at the School of Law

Kandidat PhD di bidang Hukum Internasional pada School of Law, Flinders University, Adelaide ini, adalah salah satu penerima beasiswa Scholarship Program for Strengthening the Reforming Institution (SPIRIT) dari pemerintah Indonesia. Taufan melakukan penelitian tentang perspektif hukum internasional dan domestik terhadap kegiatan pengelolaan minyak bumi melalui aktivitis anjungan pengeboran, pipa bawah laut dan kapal-kapal di perairan Indonesia.

Sebelum memulai studi doktoralnya, ia telah menyelesaikan beberapa studi dan memperoleh gelar: Master di bidang Hukum Maritim Internasional dari IMO-International Maritime Institute di Malta, Master of Science dengan konsentrasi Kajian Ketahanan Nasional dari Universitas Indonesia, dan Sarjana Hukum dari Universitas Diponegoro di Semarang.

Selama di Australia, Taufan terlibat aktif di berbagai macam kegiatan dari yang bersifat akademik hingga sosial budaya. Di antaranya ialah sebagai Wakil Ketua Umum Perhimpunan Pelajar Indonesia di Australia (PPIA), 2014-2015; Wakil Ketua PPIA South Australia 2013-2014; Direktur Sukarelawan di Kepanitiaan INDOfest 2014; Koordinator Komite Pelaksanaan Pemilu Presiden & Wakil Presiden di Luar Negeri (KPPSLN) South Australia 2014, dan anggota kelompok kesenian: Singo Sarjono dan El Musafir. Selain itu, Taufan juga beberapa kali menpresentasikan penelitiannya di kampus-kampus di Australia. Pada 2013, ia menjadi pembicara pada the 21st Annual Conference of the Australia-New Zealand Society of International Law (ANZSIL) yang diselenggarakan di Australian National University (ANU), dan setahun sebelumnya, ia menyampaikan presentasi tentang riset yang dilakukannya di forum the Sydney Law School Postgraduate Conference dengan tema ‘Crossing Boundaries’.

Di Indonesia, Taufan adalah staf di Kementerian Luar Negeri sejak tahun 2009. Ia telah ditugaskan ke berbagai kegiatan internasional sebagai anggota Delegasi Republik Indonesia. Bagian lain dari pengalamannya yaitu sebagai Ketua Umum Badan Eksekutif Mahasiswa di Universitas Diponegoro dan terlibat dalam berbagai kegiatan kemahasiswaan termasuk Jessup’s International Law Moot Court Competition.

A PhD Candidate at the School of Law, Flinders University, Adelaide, South Australia, is one of the Indonesian Scholarship Program for Strengthening the Reforming Institution (SPIRIT) awardees. Taufan undertakes research concerning international and domestic legal perspectives on petroleum operations through rigs, pipelines and ships activities in Indonesian waters. Prior to commencing his doctoral research, Taufan has completed his Master of Laws degree on a Nippon Foundation scholarship from the IMO-International Maritime Law Institute in Malta, Master of Science in the field of National Resilience Studies from the University of Indonesia, and Bachelor of Laws from Diponegoro University in Semarang, Indonesia.

During his study period, Taufan was involved in numerous activities ranging from academic to socio cultural. Among the significant roles that he holds are the National Vice President of Indonesian Student Association in Australia (PPIA), 2014 – 2015; Vice President of PPIA in South Australia, 2013-2014; Director of Volunteers at the INDOfest 2014; Chairman of the Indonesian Presidential Election Committee (KPPSLN) in South Australia, 2014, and member of Indonesian traditional dancing and music groups of Singo Sarjono and El Musafir respectively. Taufan’s other activities include the academic presentations to several postgraduate forums in Australian Universities. In 2013, he became a speaker at the 21st Annual Conference of the Australia-New Zealand Society of International Law (ANZSIL) held at the Australian National University (ANU), and, a year ahead, he was presented his research to the Sydney Law School Postgraduate Conference on ‘Crossing Boundaries’.

In Indonesia, Taufan is an official of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs since 2009. He has been assigned to several international activities as a member of the national delegation. Parts of his experiences were the President of Student Board in Diponegoro University, and involvement to various student activities including Jessup’s International Law Moot Court Competition.
