A Rustic Visit into Taiwan’s Jiufen Old Town

From teahouses to mouthwatering eateries, Jiufen Old Town is a must-see destination for foodies and culture lovers. Jiufen is located in the northeastern of Taiwan. It used to be a gold mining mountain town built by the Japanese during the gold rush. Nowadays, its maze lanes and alleyways are bustling with tourists from all over the world. Jiufen is famous for its red lantern lined streets which light up after sunset. If you are a fan of Studio Ghibli, you may also notice that the town itself shares a striking resemblance to world of Kami in Hayao Miyazaki’s “Spirited Away”. Walking along the alleyways is an experience that you will find hard to forget.
